Winter learning Seminars
What to Expect
Our 5-week winter session of Learning Seminars begins the week of January 11th, 2026.
❋ Cultivating the Interior Life
What if spiritual growth begins not with effort, but with attention? In this class, we’ll explore the gentle work of cultivating the interior life—learning to notice God’s presence, listen more deeply, and respond with openness. Guided by Luci Shaw’s Water My Soul, this class offers space for reflection, conversation, and renewed awareness of God at work beneath the surface of our busy lives. Meets weekly on Thursdays from 6-7:30pm
Led by Cherie Miller, Covenant Partner and graduate of Renovaré Institute for Spiritual Formation.
❋ Living Word -
God Speaks Through Scripture
This is a series about hearing God's voice as he speaks to us through Scripture and prayer. We will seek God as we read and meditate on the story of Joseph found in the book of Genesis, chapters 37-50. Meets weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-8pm
Led by Steve Boyce, Elder.
❋ Raising Kids in a Digital Age
Trying to keep up with your kids’ digital world—from apps and memes to screens and everything in between? You’re not alone. While we may know we’re raising kids in a digital world, navigating that world is a whole different challenge.
Join us for a practical and encouraging learning seminar based on Every Parent’s Guide to Navigating Our Digital World by Kara Powell, Art Bamford, and Brad Griffin. Drawing from the best research on kids, media, and faith—and real conversations with parents just like you—this series offers clear ideas, helpful tools, and actionable next steps for your family. Meets weekly on Mondays from 6-7:30pm
Led by Jason Emberger
Director of Student Ministry
❋ Vertical Marriage: Growing Closer to
God--Together
We're offering this class on Friday evenings so you will treat it as a bit of a date night! Expect to leave each week feeling closer to one another and encouraged in your marriage.
Marriage is one of God’s most powerful tools for spiritual formation. In this five-week class, we’ll explore how growing closer to God reshapes the way we love, communicate, and serve one another. Using the Vertical Marriage curriculum, couples will be invited to reflect, learn, and grow—no matter what season of marriage you’re in. This class is about intentionally investing in a Christ-centered marriage that continues to mature over time.
Leaders Rebecca and Mark Blackwell have been trained together in marriage mentoring and have launched marriage ministry programs in two churches in Richmond. Meets weekly on Fridays from 6-7:15pm
* Note * The first meeting for this class is Friday, January 9th.
Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
